In early March we held two public fieldwalking events in Bures. The days were
run by Carenza Lewis and the team from Access Cambridge Archaeology. The idea of running
activities at the weekend and during the week was to enable everyone the oppurtunity to get
involved, especially the local school kids.

We achieved more than our original target audience, with around 60 people from the
local area getting involved. There were even some of our old friends from Clare Middle School who
took a bus down to join in on the week day as well as a number of local people. At the weekend we
had over 40 members of the public from groups of friends to entire families
taking part.
We were really pleased with the local turn out, as well as the number of people who came from
further afield. There have also been further events since these two days run by the
Colchester Archaeological Trust and supported by the Managing a Masterpiece programme. We will update the information on this page is it comes in and keep you informed as to new events as they are planned.

Further information on how the first two days with went and finds reports, as they become available,
can be found on the Access Cambridge Archaeology website. Reports that are not otherwise available will be linked to below as they become available.
